Nolan Rhys Elias is a writer, director, producer, actor, and all around collaborator in the film and theater arts. Born in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Nolan started his artistic pursuits as an actor in local theaters in the Greater Detroit Metropolitian Area. Since a young age, he spent his summers in Loch Sheldrake, New York, studying at Stagedoor Manor under a multitude of highly trained actors and musicians to further his abilities. During the school year, Nolan attended the Interlochen Arts Academy, where he studied under teachers in both Theatre and Theatrical Tech. It was there, where Nolan began his pursuit of Writing and Directing, and within one year, recieved his first publication of "Hoarding" at the age of sixteen, upon winning the annual Dramafest competition. Upon graduating from Interlochen, Nolan continued his study of Theater at Ithaca College Dillingham Theater Department, where he also collaborated with students of the Roy H. Park School on multiple film projects. Nolan graduated from Ithaca College in 2016, with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Studies with a concentration in Directing and Writing for the Film and Stage. Following his undergraduate studies, Nolan continued to pursue his passion for storytelling by working and studying film, where he began studies at the Motion Picture Institute of Troy in Michigan, where he graduated in 2021. Now, Nolan works in Los Angeles, both collaborating with other artists, and creating on his own. To this day, Nolan works as a Writer, Director, Director of Photography, Editor, and Colorist in the consistent pursuit of telling stories.
As an actor, Nolan is experienced in acting methods such as Stanislovsky, Boleslovski, and Meisner. He is also trained in Mask work, Comedia Del Arte, and Rasa-Boxes. As a writer, Nolan is trained in a mutitude of narrative styles, from prose, to screenplay. His experience in film has made him a strong director and cinematographer, utilizing his writing and theatrical work to create unique images and an effective film style. Nolan's work as a producer has only bolistered due to his experience working in a multitude of positions in a creative team and has proven himself an effective and creative leader, capable of both leading the team and inspiring and encouraging creativity of those who he collaborates with.
